In a world turned upside down, it’s hard to imagine that love actually, is all around… Yet, many lez/bi powerhouses are staying strong despite everything that’s going on across the globe at the moment.
So, just to fill you with a little heart-shaped hope (and to remind you that there’s still plenty of good stuff out in the world) here are 10 queer couples proving just that…
Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi
These two are both #couplegoals when it comes to relationships. They’ve been together since 2005 and tied the knot in 2008. Together, they live with their adopted rescue animals and are still smitten as kittens to boot.
Sarah Paulson & Holland Taylor
Age is just a number when you’re in love with someone, none prove this more than this couple. They’ve been dating since 2015 and their pictures on Instagram arethecutest.
Lauren Morelli & Samira Wiley
This couple were together for three years before tying the knot, after meeting on set of Orange Is The New Black. Lauren divorced her then-husband after realising she had feelings for Samira. Though it might have been a not-too-simple beginning, it’s heartening to see how this couple have grown together since their fairy tale wedding.
Cynthia Nixon & Christine Marinoni
Meeting at a gay rights rally, they became a couple in 2004 and were married by 2012. Together they have a son named Max and have supported each other through different hardships, showing that relationships can last with hard work, care and mutual support.
Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner
Perhaps thelongestrelationship on this list, the pair got married in 2013 after 42 years together! The best part is that they love working together, showing that they genuinely can’t get enough of each other. Top prizes here.
Jodie Foster & Alexandra Hedison
Married since 2014, this couple keep out of the spotlight but always appear happy and loved up when spotted together. Despite keeping out of the public eye, the two collaborate on projects and reportedly, “keep each other sane.”
Ellen Page & Emma Portner
Page met Portner on Instagram – and the rest is history. They’ve been married since 2018 and have a (super) cute terrier dog together. The two dance on Portner’s Instagram and YouTube account (and generally prove just how adorable they are…)
Tig Notaro & Stephanie Allynne
This couple is the definition of a team – they work together and still find themselves madly in love. Meeting in 2013, they married two years later and have beenhappy ever afterever since. Enduring tough times together, including cancer diagnosis and grief, this didn’t break them it only appears to have made them stronger. (And yes, Stephanie did play Alice’s girlfriend Nat in Generation Q – good spot).
Jane Lynch & Jennifer Cheyne
Having dated and broken up in the past, this couple reconnected a decade later and fellbackin love – showing, if you’re right for each other, then you’ll connect somehow. (That’s how it works, right?)
Ashley Benson & Cara Delevingne
Both talented actors, Cara and Ashley met and found love on the set of a movie (which is pretty perfect, no?) The two have reportedly had each other’s initials tattooed on each other and have also moved in together. On top of all of that, they’re arguably themostfashionable couple out there right now…
