5 reasons Why You Should Buy Cat Quest Pawsome Pack

Originally posted on Meteor Media.

Cat Quest is an open world RPG set in the pawsome world of cats - what else could you want? Charlie Vogelsang takes a look at this purrfect game.

It was developed by Singapore based team The Gentlebros and the first game was released in 2017 to positive reviews. Cat Quest follows a young cat hero as he embarks on a quest to rescue his kidnapped sister in Felingard.

Due to the success, a sequel was released in 2019 and follows the tail of two kings, a cat and a dog, brought together against their will and on a paw-some discovery to reclaim their thrones. Whilst Cat Quest II is available on most devices, the first game is still limited to a few devices.

That is until now, the Cat Quest II Pawsome Pack is released today on the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 giving players the opportunity to gloriously play both. Here are five reasons why you should buy Cat Quest II Pawsome Pack.

Purrrfect Co-op

Sadly, most co-op games are online only and you can only interact with your friends via microphone. Thankfully, Cat Quest included split-screen multiplayer which means that you can play two-player with your friend in the same room! An added bonus for making the co-op actually feel like teamwork rather than having Player 1 and a side-kick.

It Looks Adorable

The graphics of Cat Quest aren’t earth-shattering but it fits the tone of the game. All the characters look cute and charming, and the environments are bright and vibrant to show a fully-realised world. While the game looks quite kid-friendly, don’t underestimate the enemies and dungeons as they are certainly not friendly.

A Fun RPG

It’s an RPG game which allows you to finally dress up cats and dogs without embarrassing your pets. You can customise everything from cute little helmets to badass suits of armour, the detail is endless. Plus you’ll em-bark on side-quests and be able to explore the kingdom of Felingard and the Lupus Empire.

Pawfect Gameplay

A game where you play as cats can basically sell itself, so it’s an even better surprise that the gameplay is enjoyable and involves some tactics. It has basic combat, but throughout the game you learn (and upgrade) spells to cast on enemies. The dungeons and hidden areas in Cat Quest involve planning and rely on clever strategies rather than running in blind.

It’s Literally About Cats and Dogs

You’d have to be a monster not to love a game where you play as cats and dogs! In the first game you play as cats only but in the sequel you can switch between playing as cats and dogs. Cat Quest is full of animal puns and it’s amazing. From catpital to the pawcific, you’ll get to see what it’s like to be a cat and a dog.

Cat Quest II Pawsome is released 31 July on Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.
